AN Urray House carer has retired after 18 years of dedicated service to “enriching the lives of residents”.

Angela MacDonald has dedicated 18 years of service to the parklands-run care home in Muir of Ord, and celebrated her final day before retirement on April 25.

She worked for eight years at the old Urray House when it was run by the Highland Council, and has worked for ten years in the new building which opened in 2014.

Joe Greiner, manager of Urray House, said: “Angela has always been a dedicated and passionate member of the team and has helped enrich the lives of our residents, with her friendly and caring nature."

Angela said: "I started as a domestic, but after two weeks they asked if I would do care. I have always been very dedicated to my work and enjoy listening to the residents and their life stories.

“I remember when the residents moved from the old Urray House into the building that's here today and I remember being worried how they would adapt. They did it in stages and the residents all adapted very well to their new environment.

“I have loved working for Parklands and very much enjoyed my time at the home. They supported me so well when I lost my father, and for that I am very grateful”
