Three casualties including a child have been taken to hospital following a crash this morning near Inverness Airport.

Two people were also treated at scene following the four-car crash on the B9039 at the junction towards Dalcross Industrial Estate.

Emergency services remain at the site of the crash which resulted in the closure of the B9039 at the junction with the A96.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said it received a call just before 9am to attend the collision.

"We dispatched three ambulances, a critical care paramedic and a paramedic response unit to the scene, with our first resource arriving on scene within three minutes.

"We transported three patients to Raigmore Hospital, including one child patient, while two patients were treated at the scene."

A Police Scotland said emergency services remain at the scene and inquiries are ongoing.
