WATER supplies in a Black Isle community should be returning to normal after Scottish Water engineers repaired a burst main.

Some supplies in the Rosemarkie/Fortrose area were hit by disruption shortly before 9am this morning.

But, giving an early afternoon update, the utilities company said the issue had been fixed.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: “Following reports of some customers in Rosemarkie experiencing disruption to their water supply this morning, a member of our team attended and identified an issue affecting a valve on the local network which he was able to resolve at around 11am.

"The problem was resulting in lower than normal pressure or loss of water for around 10 customers.

“Normal water supply should have been restored to all affected customers a short time after 11am. We are continuing to monitor the valve to ensure it is operating correctly and would encourage any customers to contact us on 0800 077 8778 if they experience any further issues.

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused this morning and thank customers for their patience while we worked to restore normal service as quickly as possible.”
