UPDATE: Police appeal over firearms incident in Highland capital

Police are appealing for help after a man was shot by armed officers and arrested.

Detectives are looking for information and images in connection with Thursday's incident which took place in the Highland capital's Polvanie View.

The public are being asked to send anything useful to the investigation through an online website.

The Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) gives people access to a form allowing them to send information directly to the major incident team based in Inverness.

According to the website it states that police are looking for photographs, CCTV or dashcam footage that may support the investigation.
