Overnight closures of the A9/B817 junction south of Evanton will be required to complete ongoing road surfacing improvements in the area.

Resurfacing of a section of the A9 at Evanton started on Sunday, July 3 for 15 nights with a 10mph convoy system in place.

However, to ensure the safety of road workers as well as motorists whilst surfacing operations take place near the busy A9/B817 junction, overnight closures of the junction are needed for one week from Thursday (July 14).

Works will take place between 7pm and 7am each night, excluding Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 July.

It is anticipated that all works will be complete by Friday, July 22, subject to weather conditions.

When overnight closures of the A9/B817 junction are in place, a diversion route via the junction at Skiach Services will be utilised to maintain local access to and from the A9.

The A9/B817 junction will be open to traffic outwith working hours.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

All relevant stakeholders have been informed of the changes.
