THE A9 on the Kessock Bridge has now reopened after being restricted in both directions due to a police incident.

Traffic Scotland have confirmed that the bridge was reopened at around 3.20pm, following the earlier police incident.

Motorists will likely find heavy traffic in the area, however it was slowly returning to normal.

The closure prompted delays on bus services using the route, with delays of up to 20 minutes.

CalMac shared a warning for anyone travelling on the route to Ullapool to reach the ferry terminal.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance.

Police have been contacted for further information.
