UPDATE: Police Scotland confirms that Kessock Bridge in the Highlands has now reopened after being closed in both directions due to an "ongoing police incident"

Police Scotland has confirmed that Kessock Bridge has now reopened.

A spokesman said: "The Kessock Bridge has re-opened. Thanks to motorists for their patience."

A Traffic Scotland spokesman also confirmed that the bridge on the A9 had been reopened and added: "Traffic remains heavy in the area so do take care on approach and drive safely."
