UPDATE: Inverness train service return to normal after lightning strikes

Train services between Inverness and Aberdeen and northbound between Aviemore and Inverness are running again after being cancelled yesterday afternoon following lightning.

ScotRail issued a warning to passengers after receiving reports of a loss of signalling due to lightning strikes in the Inverness area.

A spokesman issued an update at just before 7.30am today: "Services to/from Inverness are now running normally."
