An Inverness city centre road closed after a manhole collapse earlier today has re-opened.

Longman Road is now open in both directions with traffic flowing again after the incident caused closure to northbound traffic between Henderson Road and Longman roundabout.

A spokesman for Scottish Water said: “Following report of a hazardous utility cover on the eastbound carriageway of Longman Road (the A82), our team responded to complete an urgent repair.

“We would like to apologise to road users for the disruption caused by this issue today while we were working with the trunk road operator to make the road safe and enable it to re-open as quickly as possible.”
