UPDATE: Police have confirmed that a body has been found on Nairn beach today

Police have confirmed that a body has been found in Nairn this morning.

The alarm was raised at 7.30am and police and coastguard were sent to the scene.

An area from Marine Cottages and the Promenade was cordoned off.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Thursday, July 21, 2022 police received a report that a body of a man had been found on the beach at Nairn at Marine Road.

"Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
