Unprovoked attack on man in Alness

Information is being sought after an unprovoked attack on a man in Alness.

Police said the victim suffered "minor injuries" and had property stolen when he was targeted on the Wire bridge near to the Averon Leisure Centre, in the High Street, some time between 11.45pm on September 3 and midnight.

A police spokesman said: "Did you see anybody within the area between these times?

"Anyone with information in relation to this incident or any similar incidents is asked to contact police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website quoting CR/0070167/22 as their reference.

"Anonymous reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
