With Strictly Inverness just four weeks away, the 2023 contestants are in a last-minute push with their fundraising efforts for Highland Hospice.

Contestants have held a range of events in order to raise necessary funds for the charity that improves the quality of life for those throughout the Highlands with a life limiting illness.

Over this weekend, there is a variety of events open to the public to support those taking part in this year’s dancing competition.

Last night, Keith Goodbrand will be hosting a Race Night at the Chieftain Hotel on Millburn Road. Doors for the event open at 7.30pm and entry costs £5.

Jade Robertson is also going all out with a Drag Show at the Raigmore Motel, Old Perth Road from 7pm. Tickets cost £20 and includes a buffet and a live band.

Saturday, April 15, sees three events being hosted by contestants of the annual competition. Simone Stewart will be holding a Ladies Day for the Grand National in Dingwall at 3pm. Taking place at The National Hotel, the event will see raffles, games and live music from Ness Factor’s winner Gregor Matheson.

Ms Stewart said: “I am having a Ladies Day for Grand National on Saturday and I can’t wait.

“I am hoping this will take me over my £10,000 mark for fundraising!”

Andrew Sutherland is hosting a Quiz Night at Inverness Ice Centre during at 8pm. He said: “This is my last event – so far I’ve raised over £6400. This is my last push before the fundraising closes.

“It will be a fun night with quiz and karaoke afterwards.”

If you fancy a boogie and some live music instead of putting your brain into gear, then you can party along with Natalie Marshall at her event at The British Legion, King Street from 7pm until the wee hours.

Ms Marshall said: “This is the last event so we are trying to raise as much funds as possible alongside awareness of the Hospice.

“People have been so generous with support, especially when times are tough for so many!

“Come along and celebrate with us for the end of the fundraising journey – we’d love to see you there!”

For those looking for a more active fundraiser, Ann Chalmers is hosting a spin class at Inverness Fitness Studio on Seafield Road on Sunday (April 16).

The event will run from 11am – 12pm and tickets cost £20. Those who travel the farthest on the static bike will win a £50 voucher for Urquhart's Restaurant or a Cafe 1 lunch voucher for two people.
