Ullapool Sea Savers have installed a cigarette butt 'voting ballot' at Ullapool restaurant, The Clubhouse, as a part of their drain campaign.

The Sea Saver's drain campaign aims to raise awareness of the toxicity of cigarette butts that end up in the sea. After the Sea Savers found out that the most littered item in the UK is a cigarette butt, they got in touch with a local girl called Megan, who runs her own campaign called 'No Ifs No Butts'.
In collaboration with Megan, the Sea Savers came up with the idea of installing cigarette ballot bins around Ullapool. The ballot bin allows people to vote Yes/No on questions with their cigarette butts, so that they don't end up in the sea.
The ballot bin at the Clubhouse, by Ullapool golf course, asks: 'Last time you played golf, how many holes did you play?'
The Sea Savers said on their Facebook page: "Thanks to Russell and the team at The Clubhouse for hosting one of our ballot bins! These bins are a great, really positive way to encourage people to dispose of their cigarette butts responsibly so they don't make their way into the sea, where they can do a lot of harm."
