He was one of 33 finalists in 11 categories at an entertainment packed awards ceremony held at events venue Platform Glasgow last Thursday, June 8, and hosted by Capital Radio DJ Katy J.

First Minister Humza Yousaf was at the event and congratulated the winners.

Now in its 17th year, the awards highlight the triumphs of young people with this year's winners recognised for their work to protect the environment, challenge stereotypes, tackle youth violence and demonstrate remarkable resilience in the face of extreme adversity.

Finlay was described as a "marine conservationist, climate change activist and shark ambassador who has collaborated with school education company Twinki on a pack to increase awareness of sea conservation".

Finlay said he was "chuffed but humbled" to have won the environment category.
