Neil Lancaster, the bestselling author of the Tom Novak and Max Craigie series, dropped into Ullapool Bookshop on April 2 with his pup Peggy.

While he was there, he signed a few of his paperback copies for customers too.

Ullapool Bookshop said: “Lovely to have an author visit yesterday from crime writer Neil Lancaster who has signed copies of his paperback books for our customers. Here he is, pictured with his Black spaniel Peggy, outside Ullapool Bookshop.

As well as being a No.1 digital bestselling author, Neil Lancaster has been longlisted twice for the McIlvanney Prize for Best Scottish Crime Book of the Year, and has been shortlisted for Best New Series at the Dead Good Reader Awards.

Although he now lives in the Black Isle, Neil previously worked for the Metropolitan Police as a detective, investigating serious crimes. He also appears as an expert on two Sky Crime TV series; Meet, Marry, Murder and Made for Murder.
