Two taken to hospital after five-vehicle road collision on A890 in Ross-shire

TWO people have been taken to hospital following a five-vehicle collision in Ross-shire.

The accident happened this morning on the A890 near Auchtertyre in Wester Ross.

It came amidst weather warnings for snow and ice across large parts of the Highlands this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Wednesday, February 7, police received a report of a road crash involving five vehicles on the A890 near Auchtertyre.

"Emergency services are on the scene and two people have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

"There are no reports of any other injuries.

"The road is currently closed and arrangements are being made to recover the vehicles involved."
