Two new deputy Lord-Lieutenants appointed for Ross and Cromarty

Joanie Whiteford, the Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty, has announced the appointment of two deputies.

Norma Young from Staffin is a former head teacher, who went on to become area care and learning manager (West) within Highland Council.

She is fluent in Gaelic and brings with her a wealth of knowledge of the education system in addition to being involved within her local community of north Skye.

The second new deputy is Angus Watson MBE, an engineer, originally from Invergordon.

He volunteered for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in both Invergordon and North Kessock and went on to work for the organisation for 25 years before retiring to Culbokie.

He was awarded an MBE last year for services to marine safety and charity.
