Trial date set for Highland busker Kim Avis who has been charged with a range of sex offences

Kim Avis, also known as Gordon, faces 25 charges including rape and will go on trial on March 20.

Avis (55) is accused of raping three women and attempting to rape one of them when she was 12.

He is also accused of sexually assaulting a girl when she was 11 and faces further charges of breach of the peace and of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

The charges cover a period between January 1997 and March this year.

He is due to appear for a floating trial to begin at the High Court in Edinburgh on March 20.

He pleaded not guilty at the High Court in Glasgow in November last year and was remanded.
