A9 closed in both directions in Highlands after collision as casualty taken to Raigmore

AN ambulance has transferred one of the travellers involved in today's A9 crash south of Aviemore to hospital.

It's understood that two vehicles were involved in the incident.

The A9 was closed at the Lynwilg junction just south of Aviemore following the crash.

Fire service officers also attended the scene along with ambulance and police.

This evening a police spokesperson confirmed: "Around 4pm, police received a report of a road crash involving two vehicles on the A9 at the junction of A95 near Aviemore, one person has been injured and emergency services remain on the scene.

"The road has been closed."
