RAIL passengers on the Kyle Line were facing disruption on Friday after a train fault sparked the cancellation of some services.

The 8.55am Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh service, which had been due to arrive at the west coast terminus at 11.30am was instead terminated at Beauly after the train developed a fault.

This led to the knock-on cancellation of the 12.08pm Kyle to Inverness service, which would have reached the Highland capital at 2.42pm.
