A dinner with live music by popular Highland folk rock band Torridon has raised cash for two charities.

The three-course meals, held on two consecutive days at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, raised £700 each for Maggie’s Highland cancer care centre and the Archie Foundation, which helps sick children and their families.

Mary Nimmo, chairwoman of the Archie Foundation Highland committee, said coronavirus regulations were in place at the events attended by 100 people before Christmas.

"It didn’t detract from the enjoyment," she said.

"We had to stay seated so we were dancing in our seats rather than on them!

"In these challenging times, the raising of funds was vital to both charities."
