A TOP chef at a Wester Ross eatery is set to tempt the tastebuds of visitors to a major food showcase next month.

Bruno Birkbeck, who is head chef at the swish Torridon Hotel, is amongst the star attractions at the Living Food at Cawdor Castle event.

The TV chef will be appearing in the demonstration theatre at Cawdor Castle on Saturday, September 24.

Bruno recently appeared on The Great British Menu on BBC One, showcasing his fantastic skills making a wide range of dishes based around the brief of "sharing".

With a passion for local produce, Bruno prides himself on creating five-course gastronomic delights for guests at the Torridon Hotel, a luxury retreat.

He’ll also be judging the Make A Meal Of It competition which is running through secondary schools prior to Living Food.

The not-for-profit Living Food event promises plenty of cookery demonstrations and activities to keep younger visitors entertained and occupied. These include forest classrooms and eco activities. Bookings for the event are 60 per cent up on last year, say organisers.

Any excess funds generated are carried over for the benefit of future events.
