Groam House Museum in Rosemarkie is behind a concert tonight (Friday) being staged at neighbouring Fortrose Free Church featuring the talented duo Charlie Mckerron and Marc Clement, widely regarded as two of the finest traditional musicians in Scotland.
Charlie Mckerron stepped into the limelight in 1985 with Gaelic folk band Capercaillie, a group credited with being the major force in bringing traditional Celtic music to the world stage. Mckerron has written award-winning music for film and documentary and has appeared on screen and television throughout his career with Capercaillie and Session A9.
Marc Clement is an accomplished guitarist and singer from Inverness. A founder member of Blazin' Fiddles, Clement joined Session A9 in 2007. He also performs regularly with solo fiddlers Adam Sutherland and Bruce MacGregor.
It is being held at Fortrose Free Church, Church Street, Fortrose from 7-9pm.
Check https://groam-house-museum.arttickets.org.uk/ or Groam House for availability.

Head out to Ullapool this weekend for something completely different.
Join local author L.G. Thomson in Ullapool for a shared reading and creative writing session, organised by Open Book. The open book group has had several poems published, and were even commissioned to write one for this years' Ullapool Book Festival.
The group provides a supportive, welcoming, thought provoking environment to inspire creative writing.
The session will be held at Ullapool library on Saturday May 13, as well as June 3. The group is 16+, free to attend, and no need to book.

Ben Wyvis Primary School in Conon Bridge is holding its first school fayre since 2019 this Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
The parent group said the wider Conon Bridge and Maryburgh Community has been "so supportive" in their chocolate timbola and bottle stall donations "and we're hoping for a great turnout to support our fundraising activities".
The event includes bouncy castle, inflatable slide and play area, Ben Wyvis Primary Highland dancing, face painting, a variety of stalls including plants and crafts, refreshments and home baking.
If the weather doesn't play ball, or you fancy some quality time testing your brain, have a crack at our legendary crossword, which is sponsored by Glenmorangie with a bottle of 10-year old Glenmorangie Original being offered the first correctly completed one pulled out of the postbag (and yes, it is over 18s only for the prize pick-up).
(This week's 3 across: One doing exercises seen in an ambulance (9). See the rest inside this week's Ross-shire Journal).
While you're on the letters page, you could consider sharing your views on a matter of current interest or even contributing to our weekly Ross-shire through the Lens photo feature. Browse some of them here to get an idea.
Puzzle fans are well accommodated in the Ross-shire Journal, by the way, with a full page Brain Gym also lying in store (see page 24).
You could also plan for Dingwall's Word on the Street festival which starts next Thursday and includes something for everyone – whether you are a guerilla knitter (oh yes!), avid book lover, mad for typewriters or fan of live performance. There's tons going on so check our wee preview here.
If the weather is kinder – or take you take the view that there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes – take inspiration from our Active Outdoors pages and get out and about. Here's a sample.
