POLICE have urged residents to remain vigilant after two thefts from Portmahomack in the same night.

Power tools were stolen from a van parked in Bank Street sometime overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday.

That same evening a white Yamaha 6HP engine was also removed from a boat in the drive of a property on Golf Course Road.

"These are unusual incidents within the Portmahomack area and anyone with information is urged to be vigilant and report any unusual behaviour to the police," said an officer.

Call 101 with any information, quoting NE2409/19, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
