More than 50 TFX Academy dancers are set to take the stage at this year’s Strictly Inverness next month – after two years of postponement.

TFX dancers have been performing at Strictly every year since the event was established to support the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

Teacher Amy Crook said: “Our performances this year are thrilling. We’ve put so much effort into making them really pop and make sure Strictly Inverness is back with a bang.

“We are covering so many different styles – commercial, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, the list goes on. We run so many different classes at TFX, it’s amazing to get everyone involved.”

Choreographer Claire Darcy is busy getting the 16 charity dancing couples ready for the show. She has been with TFX for 10 years and is looking forward to returning to the show. “It’s such a buzz,” she said.

“I think with having a few years off [due to the pandemic] it’s made everyone even more excited this year. The couples have faced challenges like no other year! Some of them have been working towards this since 2020 and have had to learn completely new material. It’s so admirable.

“The couples have all worked so hard and I can’t wait to see them out there putting all this hard work into their performances.”
