A man has admitted a string of motoring offences including careless driving and an incident in Wester Ross.

Duncan MacLennan (18) pled guilty to 11 separate charges when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Court papers state that on April 25 he took a vehicle without the owner's consent from the Dalcross Industrial Estate.

He then drove the vehicle the following day on Longman Road with no licence and no insurance.

He was also caught speeding in excess of 100 mph on the stretch of road and failed to stop for a police officer.

MacLennan, of Rowan Road, Inverness, also admitted being behind the wheel at Lochbroom Filling Station, Ullapool, on April 10 in a vehicle despite having no licence and stealing a quantity of fuel.

He took the vehicle without consent on Cantray Road, Inverness, and was found driving on Garve Road, Ullapool, with no test certificate and with no insurance.

He was also found carelessly driving at excess speed and not watching the vehicle's position on the road.

Sheriff Robert Frazer deferred sentence until October 3 for the preparation of background reports.

MacLennan was disqualified in the interim.
