Boy (16) accused of attempting to murder police officer in Easter Ross town of Alness





A TEENAGER has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court accused of attempting to murder a police officer in Easter Ross.

The 16-year-old is also alleged to have possessed a knife or a blade.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and was remanded in custody.

Police Scotland said the alleged incident happened on High Street, Alness, at about 1pm on Monday.

The male officer, who was wearing body armour, was not injured.
