A NEW shop is has opened on the High Street in Fortrose.
Tweedy Pie threw wide its doors with great pies, delicious treats and some locally sourced craft products.
Julie Mackay (50) opened the business, and in spite of a hiccup with a delivery, things have been going very well so far.
Miss Mackay said the business was a reminder that out of loss great things can still happen, after being mindful of her .
In 2020 Miss Mackay's family lost their grandad, and friend, Bill Nicholson, aged 88 to Covid, and it is to his memory the business is named, and his love of good food has inspired the new venture.
Even Miss Mackay's daughter, Georgie will be one of the crafts women involved, after she started a successful candle business - aged only 10.
Her mum Susan Mackay has also been pitching in to help get the business up and running.
Miss Mackay said: "Things have gone really well. It's really lovely to see friendly faces and local support.
"I've got a fantastic woman, Shaunie Gold, baking for the shop and helping me out Shaunie Gold. Her homemade cheesecakes, cakes and tray bakes are amazing.
"We have a steady flow of locals through the shop all day and we have had some great feedback.
"People are saying they are the best pies they've ever tasted and that we are a fantastic asset to Fortrose, just what the village needs.
"Anything with the word 'best' is good enough for me.
"So after a few days with a few start up hiccups, we've got a good little set - up. Please come and visit us. "
She added: "Super excited for the future."
