A WEATHER warning for freezing rain leading to potential travel disruption has been issued for the Highlands.

The Met Office says freezing rain may fall in parts of Scotland overnight into Thursday, "perhaps leading to travel disruption".

Its Yellow warning of ice means:

A higher than normal chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, or accidents on roads and pavements

There is a small chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times

A small chance that roads, pavements and cycle paths could become quite quickly impassable

A slight chance that power cuts occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
