ROTARIANS in Easter Ross decided to roll up their sleeves and get down to a local litter clean in their free time.
Carol Anne Parker, president of the Rotary Club of Tain and Easter Ross, said: "Some of us got together in person for a walk and litter pick in the Tain area. We gathered more than we expected and really enjoyed being able to see each other and chat in a safe way so it was a win-win!
"It came about when we were talking about beach plastic which is a worldwide and unfolding problem. We decided to organise a litter pick where we’d noticed a need. It was our first time being together in person since March – another draw. It was a safe way to be together and do something useful.
"Six people came along, from five households. That was a happy accident but we were quite prepared to settle into teams as appropriate. We are planning another walk and clean-up soon, in a different location.
"Some members of the Easter Ross communities have spotted what we’re doing and have said they’d like to join in and they are more than welcome."
