TRADERS and fundraisers have converged on an Easter Ross town for a popular market event.

The outdoor event staged by Tain and District Development Trust (TDDT) has proved a success since it was first launched.

Today's event is the first community market of the season and runs from 10am until 2pm.

TDDT will be running an Easter Egg decorating competition.

Entries should be handed into the TDDT stall before 1pm.

The winners of each group will be announced at 1:30pm and awarded a prize donated by Tesco, Tain.

Amongst the stallholders will be former Tain Royal Academy pupil, and current Highland News and Media photographer, James Mackenzie, who is fundraising for the Strictly Inverness dance event he is taking part in for Highland Hospice.

Mouth-watering home baking prepared by his mother will be on sale.

The event also helps draw attention to the Easter Ross Peninsula as a visitor destination in its own right.
