Police have appealed for info following a one-vehicle accident near Tain

THE occupants of a small, black car may which may have been near the scene of a one-vehicle road accident in Tain are being sought by police.

The collision happened around 5.20pm on Sunday on the Tain bypass stretch of the A9 close to its junction with Morangie Road.

The road was closed for a short period of time while emergency services attended the scene.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved, a bronze coloured 3 series BMW motor car, was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be non life-threatening.

Northern Constabulary have subsequently appealed for any witnesses to this collision and "are particularly keen to trace a small, black car and its occupants which may have been in the area at the relevant time".

Northern Constabulary, Highland & Islands Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service all attended the scene of and the A9 was closed in both directions for a period.
