A TRIO of groups have been handed cash windfalls thanks to the efforts of shoppers at an Easter Ross store.

Invergordon’s Co-op has handed over cheques to Home-Start Invergordon, Ross County Girls & Women Football Club, and the Saltburn Beach Environmental Sustainability Project.

“Each cause earned a fantastic amount of money which was raised by all of our customers who chose one of these or all three every time they scanned their membership this year.

“Each has received over £3400.”

Home-Start Invergordon helps local disadvantaged families and children.

The football team plans to expand the club with more equipment, kit and coaching and offer more girls wider access across a larger age group.

The Saltburn group wants to replace tired seating in its beachfront location with more environmentally sustainable benching.

The groups have thanked the Co-op and customers for the donations.

Saltburn and Westwood Community Council added: “We have been overwhelmed with how supportive you have all been through a very difficult time. Thank you on behalf of our community.”
