A DINGWALL am-dram group is at the heart of a colourful five-day summer extravaganza that finds space for everything from a performance of Macbeth to Punch and Judy shenanigans – and an opportunity to try out rowing!

After the success over the last two years of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Treasure Island at The Storehouse of Foulis, Dingwall Players return with an expanded programme of events.

Summer@Storehouse runs from July 5–9 and includes an appearance from award-winning children’s author Barbara Henderson whose That’s the Way to Do It! introduces the audience to Victorian favourite Mr Punch. That will include a Victorian jumping quiz and readings from her novel Punch, puppetry challenges and a giant interactive Punch and Judy show to finish. The fun starts on Tuesday, July 5 at 6pm and is free.

The same evening at 7.30pm, Guerrillas In The Mist Productions present a showcase featuring the best comedy performers based in the Highlands. A night of live stand-up comedy and sketch performances will be hosted by Zander McNally, featuring Mike Hendry, Kieran Lochore, and Amy Boyle. Headlining is award winning comic Vladimir McTavish (TV’s Bob Doolally).

A Woman Walks into a Bar is the offering at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 6. Bob Pegg tells the tales, Christina

Stewart sings the songs in Gaelic, Scots and English and Bill Taylor plays traditional music on clarsach and

Hungarian citera.

From July 7-9 at 7.30pm, Dingwall Players celebrate their 75th anniversary with a fast-moving production of Shakespeare’s Scottish play, Macbeth. The story of ambition, blood, guilt, ghosts, murder and witches – with some humour promised.

Other events and activities will be on site during the day including sock puppet making, storytelling and face-painting with Barbara Henderson (under the tree) and a Come and Try session with Strathpeffer & District Community Rowing Club on Saturday, July 9 from 1– 5pm.

All events – except the rowing! – take place in a stretch tent.

Summer@Storehouse is supported by Highland Council's Dingwall & Seaforth ward. Full details and booking can be found at www.dingwallplayers.org
