Street party plans for Invergordon's Tom Stoltman after second consecutive World 's Strongest Man title as community leaders hail inspirational example of following your dreams

AN Easter Ross community is planning to celebrate a local hero's strongman success with a street party.

And community leaders have hailed 27-year-old Tom Stoltman's determination in winning back-to-back World Strongest Man titles as an inspirational example for other locals to follow.

Cromarty Firth councillor Pauline Munro said: "We are all so proud off the boys and what they have achieved is immense.

"The local community are over the moon and indeed our intention is to do a street party in their honour as soon as we get a licence in place. Everyone here wants to help and see the boys get the attention they so deserve."

Fellow councillor Molly Nolan said: "Tom is an incredible ambassador for our area and I am so proud of his success. I hope that our young people in particular will take inspiration from the Stoltman brothers and know that, with hard work and dedication, it is possible to achieve their hopes and dreams.”

Cromarty Firth councillor Tamala Collier said: "Tom Stoltman, and his brother Luke, are both truly inspirational. Everybody can learn something from them, especially our youth. They show that you can achieve great things when you put your mind to something and work hard for it."

Councillor Maxine Morley-Smith said: "What Tom is achieving is exceptional, especially as he overcomes personal challenges to do so. He’s an inspirational figure in both areas of his life. Invergordon continues to be proud of Tom and his older brother Luke. We wish him success after success."

Back in March 2021, during the coronavirus crisis, he spoke of the challenges of living with autism. He said then: "Obviously I've opened up and tried to get autism out there around the world but people don't see what's going on off camera. They see the lifting weights, the fun stuff we do on YouTube, but they don't see if you are depressed, sad or stressed."

He said then he hoped that by opening up about it he could help others.
