So after around 18 weeks, we’re just days away from taking to the dancefloor and showing what we can do.

Hopefully we’ll all put on a good show and help add to the £250,000 we’ve already generated between us for Strictly Inverness organisers and hosts Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

This will be a relatively short update because between work, training and extra sessions, I’m exhausted.

But we can rest when it’s over because we’re all getting into performance mode for the annual charity dance contest.

Along with my fab dance partner Ruth Mason, we have few expectations. We know our semi final on Thursday will be super competitive and even though we finished third in the rankings for fundraising in our group, we’re not predicting a spot for us in Saturday’s final.

That’s mainly because of the talent among the rest of our Team Thursday pals - any of whom would deserve a place in the last eight.

Apart from our dance twins, I haven’t seen much of Team Friday in action but I hear lots of good things so that semi final will be something special too. I’m looking forward to watching them all and cheering from the sidelines.

Prior to the semi finals we have our launch night on Wednesday. I’m really looking forward to this one because it’s the only show where my daughters will be in the crowd. I know they will be brutally honest with me afterwards but as long as I see them smiling, I’ll be happy. Hopefully we’ll put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces next week.
