DINGWALL High Street is set to lose another major retail presence next month.

The Original Factory Shop, part of a nationwide chain, will shut its doors at 70-71 High Street on Friday, May 19, the company confirmed this week.

A spokesperson from The Original Factory Shop said: “We regularly review the stores across our property estate and unfortunately have taken the decision to close our Dingwall store. For the last few weeks, we have been consulting with colleagues at the store and are working hard to support all of those affected.

"We’d like to thank all our customers for their support and look forward to welcoming them at our Invergordon store which is 14 miles away.”

The Invergordon store posted: "While it is very sad that our Dingwall shop is closing, please remember that we can provide all your party shop needs."

The announcement follows the closure earlier this month of M&Co, another retail chain with a High Street presence.

Its mother company had appointed administrators and the closure was part of a nationwide programme.

The Dingwall store posted: "We are sorry to announce that we will be closing for the final time on Friday 19th May 2023. Your closest store will be Invergordon. We would like to thank all our loyal customers for their support over the years. We will miss you all. We have loved being able to support our local community through our local charity.

"Please bear with the store team over the coming days as this is a stressful and upsetting time for them all."
