A VERY special Ross–shire garden has shown the 'strength' of love in a family.

Nikki Stoltman has been helping her dad create a rockery with a difference thanks to a local stonemason – and two very strong brothers.

The Stone Garden at Nikki's dad, Ben's, home near Kincraig Castle brings together many of the influences on the family.

Nikki explains: "My mum, who has passed away, and my dad worked very hard to get the garden to standard that it is.

"It is a walled garden and my dad wanted a stone wall. We have been working with Craig Mulheron who is a local stonemason and he has really brought the stone wall to life."

Nikki has set up a gardening business, during the lockdown, called The Sunflower Gardener, sunflowers were her mum's favourite plant.

She continued: "My brothers Tom and Luke, who are both world–renowned heavy weight lifters, had some Atlas Stones that they no longer needed, so we wanted to use them.

"And my dad walks his two dogs, Murphy and Baker up into the fields every day. For many years he has seen a large stone on a neighbouring farmer's land that he had his eye on and thanks to the farmer's support he gave my dad the stone and it is incorporated into the design.

"I don't think any of us expected the stone wall to be this big, but it is really something quite impressive.

"We needed Luke and Tom's strength to put the stones in place.

But huge thanks go to Craig for making it happen."
Nikki explained that the next thing to do is to plant the garden up and she plans to help her dad to do that over the next few weeks, when the weather stops being so changeable."
