Strathpeffer Pavilion extravaganza 'highlight of the year' for care home residents
A festive extravaganza at the Strathpeffer Pavilion for care homes across Ross-shire saw residents hailing the event as "the highlight of their year".
Strathallan House Care Home in Strathpeffer organised the day, jam-packed with music and dancing for care home residents in Muir of Ord, Dingwall, Strathpeffer and Inverness. It was the first such event since the Covid pandemic and proved to be a huge hit.

Care manager at Strathallan House, Chloe Macleod said: "We had about 80 residents from Strathallan House, Fodderty House, Southside Nursing Home, Urray House, and lots of families of residents as well.
"It went really well – so well that everybody is hoping to do it again next year. We did do it one year before Covid-19 hit, but obviously we’ve not been able to do it over last few years due to the pandemic – so it was nice to be able do it again this year.
"Everybody thoroughly enjoyed it, residents at Stathallan even told us that it was the highlight of their year! It was good to get out, and it's great to be able to mix with the other care homes as well, we had lots of children as well so its good to have that intergenerational mix."
Entertainment at the event saw Christmas carolling from Ben Wyvis Primary and Strathpeffer Primary School, followed by a church service from Ronnie Gall of Strathpeffer Church. The afternoon began with Alasdair playing the accordion and live music from Tony, followed by Highland dancers from Marion Munro's School of Dance who were piped in. To finish off, Mòd gold medal winner Sophie Stewart sang some Gaelic songs, before some more live music from Tony.
As well as all of this, Santa and his elves also paid a visit to the extravaganza for all the children attending. Dingwall Academy were also kind enough to allow three of their pupils to volunteer to help out on the day too.
