Strathpeffer community ‘keen to keep beautiful spaces to enjoy’ after park clean-up

MEMBERS of the Strathpeffer community rolled up their sleeves to chip in to a clean-up the local park in a bid to “keep beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy”.

The community clean-up was organised by Strathpeffer Station Trading, in conjunction with the Spring Clean Scotland campaign. Staff from the Station Trading community shop and members of the Strathpeffer Residents Association were both key players in the organisation and attendance of the event.

The Strathpeffer Residents Association are also fundraising to build playparks for the local children. Having successfully installed Phase 1 equipment, the association is now fundraising to deliver Phase 2 of the development, which will include inclusive equipment for toddler to 4-year-olds and additional inclusive play.

Currently, the Strathpeffer Residents Association have secured £65,000 of the £105,000 needed for Phase 2 of the plans.

“We collected fourteen bags of rubbish in just 90 minutes! The Strathpeffer Community Park and the Strathpeffer Pavilion gardens are now looking a lot more attractive and are much safer for the wildlife that live there.

“We are very happy to see how keen our community is to make and keep beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
