Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair to host ‘silent auction’ of artwork with all proceeds donated to Mikeysline

A range of renowned artists from across the Highlands and beyond are exhibiting their works at Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair, taking place from November 23 to 26 this year.
Artists such as Sheenagh Harrison, Mary Black and Paula Deas will feature amongst the 80 exhibitors at the Art Fair, all of whom have created one-off pieces especially for the event.
Lisa MacDonald, High Life Highland’s Manager at Strathpeffer Pavilion, said: “I am thrilled to see the popular and successful Art Fair returning to the historic village venue of Strathpeffer Pavilion yet again.
“Through the years, the Pavilion has seen hundreds of emerging and established artists display and sell their work during the Art Fair. It is a privilege to be able to exhibit such a high quality and diverse range of artwork from across the area – and beyond.
“I encourage everyone to come along to the event at the Pavilion, whether they are an aspiring artist or an avid collector. There’s artwork for every taste and budget, but what really makes the Art Fair special is the ‘buzz’ throughout the exhibition period.”
Liz Peck, this year’s chosen artist for the Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair, has made the admirable decision to donate all proceeds made on her 2023 featured piece called ‘Wait now: breathe’ to local mental health charity Mikeysline.
The painting will be sold by silent auction starting at £250 to raise the highest possible donation for Mikeysline.
The artwork will be available to view online during the auction, and bids are open for both individuals and businesses to make from 7pm on Wednesday, November 22, to 4pm on Sunday November 26.
Liz shared: “It was so exciting to be asked to paint the poster piece for the Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair 2023.
“I am so lucky to have such inspirational scenery to paint here in the Highlands, and yet I am acutely aware that the isolation and vast spaces that bring such joy also bring tremendous sorrow.
“Mikeysline was born from this sorrow, and I painted ‘Wait now: breathe’ specifically to sell in aid of this great charity. The team at the Pavilion came up with the idea of a silent auction, which I think highlights how much everyone applauds the work of Mikeysline.”
Emily Stokes, Mikeysline’s CEO, added: “We are delighted that Liz Peck, this year’s chosen artist for the Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair, has decided to donate all proceeds made on her 2023 featured piece to Mikeysline!
“The title of Liz’s piece is apt in reminding us, in tough and overwhelming times, to simply pause and take a deep breath to get our thoughts together before moving onto the next step.
“We are so grateful for this donation, and for the wider awareness of Mikeysline too. Huge thanks to Liz for her generosity, and to Strathpeffer Pavilion for the opportunity to raise funds by unique means selling bespoke local art via silent auction.”
High Life Highland’s online shop will also feature selected works from the Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair so that members of the public who are unable to attend in-person have the opportunity to purchase artworks remotely.
