LOCAL art buffs could be competing with bidders from around the world in snapping up paintings at one of the most eagerly anticipated shows of the year in the Ross-shire calendar.

Building on the success of a trial last year, the Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair will again feature an online "shop" allowing those who can't make it to the end to cast an eye over paintings on display and for sale.

The work of more than 100 artists will be on display for a discerning audience over the three days of the event next month.

It's expected that around 300 works will be shown in total between November 22 and 24.

While some pieces can be snapped up at bargain basement prices, others have exchanged hands for well into four figures in years gone by.

The art fair has become a firm favourite on the Ross-shire calendar. Around 300 pieces of art are likely to be exhibited.

Andrew Sinclair, Janis Mennie, Dot Walker, Gordon Rennie, Michael Forbes and Rona Kant feature amongst those exhibiting.

The artworks will include Autumn Glen Affric specifically painted by Rona Kant for the art fair this year.

Amongst all these fine pieces, Strathpeffer Primary School will also have a display of art from their Primary 7 students.

The art on display will feature on High Life Highland’s online shop from Friday through Sunday. Customers, potentially from across the world, will be able to purchase the items online for collection from the Pavilion.

Lisa Macdonald, HLH’s local facility manager, said: “I am delighted to see the Strathpeffer Art Fair returning to the historic village venue of Strathpeffer Pavilion. It is fantastic to be able to see such a high quality of art from across the country. I am looking forward to bringing another exhibition of high standard art to Strathpeffer in November, there’s artwork for every budget so I would encourage you to pop in to the Pavilion and see what you find to add to your collection and if you can’t make it be sure to check out our online shop at highlifehighland.com”

She continued “I would also like to thank Carlsberg for their generous support through sponsorship of the 2019 Strathpeffer Pavilion Art Fair”

The event will run from 10am – 8pm on Friday 22nd, on Saturday 23rd from 10am – 6pm and on Sunday 24th from 10am – 3pm and offers the opportunity to view and purchase artworks of a high standard from over 100 artists of local and national renown.
