Excitement is mounting amongst coastal rowing enthusiasts as the Strathpeffer and District Community Rowing Club builders put the finishing touches to the Club’s second St. Ayles Skiff – a 21ft wooden rowing boat.

Tor Justad, chairperson of the Club commented “This is the result of many months of work by a small team of builders and the Club is grateful to all funders for the funding provided – the skiff will be used by many people of all ages for many years and coastal rowing has many physical and mental health benefits”

The club was formed in 2017 and launched its first skiff Grebe in September 2018 and since then the Club has grown its membership and had regular all year round rows from its base at Storehouse of Foulis.

The second skiff will be named Tern by Quintin and Michelle Stevens – proprietors of the Storehouse at the slip on Saturday, January 22 at 2pm and Club funders and supporters have been invited to celebrate the launch

Members of the public will be welcome and if only attending the launch are asked to follow stewards who will direct them to the Club parking area behind the Storehouse.
