A STRATHPEFFER store found at one of the spa village's most historic landmarks has become a donation point for the community's sharing larder.

Station Trading opened earlier this year at the old Victorian station in the village as "a shop with a conscience", offering a mixture of ethically sourced, environmentally friendly, organic and fair trade food, household and craft products.

It says it is now a donation point for Strathpeffer Community Centre’s sharing larder.

It posted: "If you have any spare non-perishable goods, unopened toiletries or toilet roll please consider donating – we have a box outside the front door during opening hours.

"We know the cost of living crisis is particularly bad at the moment, please do go visit the community centre and help yourself if you need it.

"Together we can help look out for one another."

The shop operates a refill service of regular household cleaning products in a bid to eliminate plastic waste and keeps prices down. It also provides local artists and craftspeople an outlet for their products.

Strathpeffer Community Centre welcomes donations of non-perishable goods, toiletries and toilet rolls either at the centre or via Station Trading.

Earlier this week it flagged availability of Christmas decorations, tinsel and chocolates, stating: "Please come and help yourself or donate if you can." It has a Facebook page and website.
