All Stagecoach bus services in Inverness and across the Highlands are subject to delays or short notice cancellation today (Tuesday July 11) due to the "on-going" driver shortage and further driver sickness.

On a very wet morning commuters and shoppers faced making hurried alternative arrangements as Stagecoach used social media to alert the would-be travelling public.

The company urged: "For live times updates on all services please download the Stagecoach App."

One office worker from Lochardil, Inverness, who was forced to use his car to get to work on time, said: "I am afraid the non arrival of buses here is something I am used to, and there is seldom warning on the app.

"Ironically when I looked at the app today, there was a red triangle warning on the service I needed to catch that it was cancelled, but by that time it was too late to take the earlier bus."
