AN EASTER Ross group is fine-tuning a performance set to get locals into the festive mood.

Tain Choral's Christmas carol concert will be performed in the Duthac Centre on Sunday, December 15 at 4pm.

The group will be joined there by a choir from Craighill Primary School.

There will be a second opportunity to hear the Choral, who will perform in Dornoch Cathedral on Monday. December 16 at 7pm when entry is by donation.

The programme contains a wide variety of Christmas music with something to suit all tastes. Musical director Lydia Jackson has searched far and wide for music, and has arranged many of the carols herself. Once again there is a distinctly international flavour with carols from as far afield as Poland and Venezuela as well as many traditional favourites.

A selection by John Rutter is also planned. To conclude the afternoon’s entertainment there will be a more light-hearted feel with some well-loved Christmas songs to put the audience in festive mood.

Coffee, tea, mulled wine and other goodies will be served during the interval in the lesser hall, and this is included in the entry price of £6. Tickets are available from choir members or at the door on the Sunday afternoon.

After the Christmas break the choir will reconvene in the Lesser Hall of the Duthac Centre at 7.30pm on Monday, January 6. New members will be especially welcome.

Rehearsals will then start for a Spring concert to take place in late April 2020.
