THE Scottish SPCA is seeking a new owner for two "best friend" dogs who have lived together all their lives.
Staff at the charity’s rescue and rehoming centre in Inverness are appealing for someone kind to offer lurchers Doug and Eddie a home as a duo.
Centre manager Elaine Floyd said: "Doug and Eddie have been in kennels for almost six months now, which is most likely because we are looking to rehome them as a pair.
"We know it’s a big ask to take on two dogs but it would be such a shame to separate these best friends and we’re sure there is someone out there for them.
"Doug is five years old and Eddie is four. Doug has an immune deficiency which causes his nose to scab over and peel and his toenails to fall out.
"This will affect him for the rest of his life but thankfully it is easily managed with steroids, which are relatively inexpensive. Any new owner will have to be willing to take on the responsibility for Doug’s condition and any costs associated with his medication.
"Doug and Eddie are happy go lucky lads who are full of fun. They love to play, both with each other and with new friends.
"They really enjoy getting outside so they can have a good run around and stretch their legs. Although they are big fans of the outdoors, they also love to curl up inside and get cosy under a blanket.
"Both boys have previously lived alongside other animals and young children. They will make a wonderful addition to a loving home and we would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in our terrific twosome."
