RAIL passengers on the Far North Line face delays of up to 35 minutes today, ScotRail has warned.

The delays affect services between Inverness and Wick, and are being caused by a temporary speed restriction between Ardgay and Tain.

"We are having to run trains at a reduced speed between Ardgay and Tain because of a speed restriction in place," said a spokesman. "Disruption is expected until the end of the day."

ScotRail also warned of knock-on delays to trains on the Kyle of Lochalsh line of "up to 15-20 minutes".
