Fortrose public toilets vandalism has triggered a call for witnesses to come forward as “somebody must know who did it”.

On April 18, Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust (RAFT) expressed their disappointment to see the public toilets vandalised.

They said on their Facebook page: “What a shame the toilets have been vandalised. It's a lot of work to clear up.

“Someone must know who did this. If you have any information, ring the Police on 101. The toilets now back in use. If you used the toilets on April 18, then please post the time you were there and whether they were on this state.”

Black Isle councillors have also expressed how “disheartening” it is to see vandalism at the volunteer-reliant facility.

Councillor Morven-May MacCallum said: “Really disappointing to see the ongoing vandalism going on at the toilets. The volunteers do an amazing job and I very much hope that the people doing this damage recognition the financial and moral consequences and will take the chance to correct their wrongs.”

Councillor Lyndsey Johnston added: “After all of the hard work Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust have put into keeping these facilities open, this is very disheartening for the team.

“If you know who did this, please have a word with them. They might even like to do some volunteering or make a donation to make amends.”
