Nobody can deny it has been a busy year across the north – and amazingly Covid-19 has not been the only story in town, even if it has felt like that at times, especially as we get set to start 2022 with more restrictions imposed, at least in the short term.

From the return of sports and music events to protests to, sometimes, just the simple joy of living, all the images captured here – and many others besides – represent a glimpse into our collective community life and a way of telling our own stories to ourselves. Quite fitting given that 2022 has been officially designated Scotland’s Year of Stories.

Maybe some of the images here will spark memories for you, perhaps you took part in some of the events captured.
